Ebonyi PDP suspends the party chair, Due to alleged misbehavior.

Okorie Tochukwu, the chairman of the PDP's Ebonyi chapter, has been placed on administrative leave due to alleged misbehavior.

This came about because the party in the state claimed that Okorie stole more than N53 million from its account without consulting any of the other signatories.

Ifeanyi Nworie, the deputy state chairman of the PDP, made this statement following the SWC's emergency meeting in Abakaliki on Monday. He also added that the suspension was effective for one month.

Nworie claims that Okorie was suspended because he failed to schedule executive meetings for a period of four months after the Court of Appeal in Abuja reinstated him as chairman.

"At today's Emergency SWC meeting, we discussed the actions of our chairman, Tochukwu Okorie, and his misconduct.

"The chairman has broken the party's constitution by failing to call a meeting for more than four months.

At today's emergency meeting, attendees included the Deputy Chairman, the Legal Advisor, the Publicity Secretary, and the Women Leader.

According to The MEDIA, the Court of Appeal in Abuja ordered Okorie's reinstatement as Chairman of the PDP in Ebonyi State on May 23, 2022, and dismissed Silas Onu, who had previously held the office.

However, in response, Okorie claimed that his purported suspension was unlawful, asserting that "only the national leadership can suspend me.

"I am a member of the party's National Executive Council, and no state working committee member has the authority to suspend me.

"As instructed by the court, I am the chairman regarding the alleged gross misconduct. In order to conduct party business, I have the right to access the party's account.
